Contemplative Practice Facilitator

Alba (she/her) facilitates welcoming, healing, uplifting somatic practice spaces for students through the 'Embodiment Lab' in the Center for Compassion Studies. She is passionate about promoting health through movement, breath, and mindfulness. She earned her bachelor's degree with a double major in Kinesiology and Sports Training, and is currently a graduate student in the Counseling M.A. program, with a focus on Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling, in the College of Education. Alba also shares mindfulness practices with UArizona students as a member of Mindful Ambassadors through CAPS. She is certified in several styles of yoga asana (movement) practice including Trauma Informed Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Hatha Yoga, AirReal and Aeroyoga, Yoga Wall, Stand Up Paddle Board Yoga, and Yin Yoga. She also holds additional certifications as a Trauma Releasing Exercise provider, Barre instructor, Certified Health Coach (IIN) among others. She uses a combination of all the tools she has acquired through those certifications to create holistic classes and workshops.
