Is nature writing itself a kind of activism?
If so, what is the impact and who is the audience?
Join us to explore nature writing’s place in environmental advocacy. This informal session with environmental advocate, philosopher, and author Kathleen Dean Moore (Great Tide Rising: Toward Clarity and Courage in a Time of Planetary Change, and co-ed., Moral Ground: Ethical Action for a Planet in Peril) will offer a conversation for writers, scientists, philosophers, social justice workers and all who use the written word to engage, motivate and influence our collective flourishing. Discuss how to identify your audience and understand the impact of creating messages that celebrate the natural world – while it changes before our eyes- and break our hearts open to move forward with engaged compassion toward all living beings.
